How Dr. David Samadi Has Revolutioned Prostate Cancer Surgery

The story of how New York-based surgeon Dr. David Samadi became one of the leading robotics experts in his field is a very inspiring one. Like many New Yorkers David Samadi came to the United States from another country. David Samadi grew up in Iran where he lived with his family during the 1970s. However when the political situation in Iran became increasingly unstable and hostile David was forced to leave the country where he was born in order to flee the Iranian Revolution. David Samadi left Iran when he was a teenager and moved to Western Europe where he lived in countries such as the United Kingdom and Belgium.

Despite all of the upheaval in his life of David Samadi was able to somehow focus on his studies. His family would come to settle in the United States after fleeing Iran and David would go on to apply to the State University of New York at Stony Brook. While David was a student at the State University of New York at Stony Brook he he studied biochemistry. David’s passion for medicine would push him to leave the United States and pursue an education in medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the Montefiore Medical Center. He would also go on to study the application of robotics to medicine in France. Armed with a thorough education in medicine that he gained from medical institutions around the world David Samadi would go on to become one of the most innovative doctors working in medicine today.

Cancer can be an incredibly difficult disease for medical professionals to treat. Treating cancer requires that doctors be thoughtful about the needs of their patients and that they also be creative with their approach to helping patients heal from this particularly pernicious disease. The disease can be particularly aggressive and as such doctors must also be aggressive in seeking out new ways to combat it. Dr. David Samadi has used his rigorous education to develop new solutions that enhance the treatment that pancreatic cancer patients receive. One of Dr. David Samadi’s claims to fame is the medical breakthrough he achieved when he developed smart robotic prostate surgery. Dr. David Samadi’s new technique essentially allows him to have an enhanced view of the interior of a patient’s body as he is performing surgery. Having an enhanced view of the area that he is operating on has helped him to avoid the kind of nerve damage that often occurs with older surgical techniques used on prostate cancer patients.

Jason Hope and the Important Work of the SENS Foundation

There are few things in life more important than the continued push for research in the field of medicine. Jason Hope, a prominent entrepreneur from Arizona, saw this firsthand as he waded deeper into professional career. Hope is likely most well known for his work within the field of mobile communications, primarily through the company that he founded named JAWA, but he has been working extensively to both broaden his appeal and dig deeper into concepts that are clearly going to be important in the future. For that reason, Jason Hope reached out to the SENS Foundation out of California in order to pledge a massive donation to help the company push forward with more life-changing research.

Before we leap into what Jason Hope is doing with the SENS Foundation, let’s first step back and look at where Hope has come from throughout his career. Jason Hope was born and raised in Arizona, growing up in Tempe. He would go on to attend Arizona State University before scoring his MBA from the WP Carey School of Business. Hope, like many people in his generation, grew up fascinated by technology in all of its various forms and facets Hope wouldn’t wait long in order to jump into his career, employing entrepreneurial skills in order to find early success in mobile communication.

After establishing JAWA, Hope would turn to making partnerships and handing out grants to companies that needed a little bit of a kickstart. This decision would lead Hope to seriously analyze what it means to work alongside individuals in developing their ideas. With this line of thought in his mind, Hope would eventually discover the SENSF foundation — a non-profit organization based out of California that is exclusively focused on pioneering rejuvenating medicine for age-related illness. The SENS Foundation struck a chord with Hope who saw a real future in the field of biotechnology.

Hope wouldn’t let his fascinating for the SENS Foundation fall by the way. Instead, Hope immediately got involved. Jason Hope would meet Dr. Aubrey de Grey, one of the lead medical professionals at the SENS Foundation, and that would lead him to writing a check for $500,000 as a donation. Dr. Saad Saad was a Pediatric Surgeon-in-Chief

Dr. Saad Saad is a highly experienced pediatric surgeon who has operated on thousands of children from infants to teenagers. He recently discussed his success secrets with the Idea Mensch website.

Dr. Saad discovered he wanted to become a doctor while still in high school in Kuwait. His two older brothers were engineers who worked outside on construction sites and at first he wanted to follow in their footsteps, but later changed his mind. He wanted to be a doctor, and a surgeon, although he came from a poor family. This forced him to perform at his best while in Cairo Medical School, in Egypt, so he graduated with honors, as the salutatorian of his class, ranking second.

In his third year of medical school, he paid $99 for an airplane ticket to fly from Cairo to Beirut, Lebanon to take the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certification test. He passed the test, and that certification allowed him to go to the United States to receive further medical training after he completed medical school and finished his internship in England. Therefore, he says, paying that $99 was the best money he’s ever spent in his life. He is still living in the United States, in Eatonville, New Jersey.

Saad has not lost his appreciation for the value of the hard work he has done throughout his life, or his understanding that all people are alike. When asked about a book recommendation, he answered anything about Abraham Lincoln, who freed the slaves during the Civil War. And he adds that, as a surgeon, he knows all people are alike below their skin. No matter our race, creed or religion, we have the same heart, liver and stomachs.

And when asked what he would like to post on a giant billboard, he said he proved anybody can be a success in America if they do the work. He was just a poor Palestinian kid could become successful in this country, as he did, so could everyone. “Work hard and persevere.”

Saad grew up in Kuwait, one of eight children. He completed his residency in surgery and pediatric surgery with Dr. H. Biemann Othersen in Charleston, South Carolina. He describes Dr. Othersen as the greatest children’s surgeon in the country. Dr. Othersen taught him to be kind as well as hard-working, and to treat all children the same regardless of their family income, their race, their religion or their physical and mental abilities. Dr. Saad is Board Certified in Pediatric Surgery. He has developed many new pediatric surgical procedures and has patented two inventions.

He has been married for 42 years and has three children. Two of them are also surgeons, one is an ICU nurse, and one is a lawyer. Learn more: http://www.jerseyshoreuniversitymedicalcenter.com/jsumc/newseventsandclasses/pressreleases/Press-Release.cfm?customel_dataPageID_2021=495087
